LUCKNOW, Aug. 23 -- Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday rejected BSP chief Mayawati's allegation that the SP had a history of breaking alliances, saying his party "never breaks coalitions" and that its existing partnership for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections remained strong.

At a press conference here at the SP's state headquarters, Yadav said, "The Samajwadi Party never breaks alliances. When we walk together, we fulfil our commitment. Socialists have always stood by their partners."
