New Delhi, Sept. 19 -- Real estate development needs to account for the costs it imposes on surrounding urban infrastructure and ecosystems, including water runoff, sewage and poor walkability, a senior union urban affairs and housing ministry (MoHUA) official said on Friday. D Thara, secretary, capital development, MoHUA, proposed a pilot with developers to examine a few projects and identify ways to minimise these effects on the environment.
