New Delhi, Feb. 27 -- Digital platforms must "rethink revenue sharing policies" and share revenue with content creators, including traditional media and influencers, Union information and broadcasting minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said, articulating an approach that some countries have already enforced, and which has been a long-standing demand by traditional media companies.
Speaking at the Digital News Publishers Association Conclave 2026, the minister added that if the platforms were not willing to do this "voluntarily, there are so many countries which have shown the path to get it done the legal way".
