PRAYAGRAJ, March 27 -- It is wrong to claim in secular India that a particular religion is the "only true religion" and doing so implies a "disparagement" of other faiths, attracting action under Section 295A (outrage religious feelings) of the Indian Penal Code, , the Allahabad high court has noted in a recent order. Justice Saurabh Srivastava made the observation while dismissing a plea filed by Christian priest, Reverend Father Vineet Vincent Pereira, seeking quashing of criminal proceedings against him under Section 295A IPC, equivalent to Section 299 of BNS.
