India, March 28 -- Just a day after Balendra Shah took oath as Nepal's new prime minister, former prime minister KP Oli and former home minister Ramesh Lekhak were arrested on Saturday, months after GenZ protests toppled the government last year.

"They were arrested this morning and the process will move forward according to the law," Kathmandu Valley police spokesman Om Adhikari was quoted as saying by AFP.

Min Bahadur Shahi, a senior leader of Oli's Commmunist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist Leninist) told Reuters that the leaders were arrested from their residences.
