New Delhi, Sept. 29 -- A 44-year-old man, whom Delhi Police dubbed "Mr Natwarlal" for frequently changing his identities and impersonating influential people, has been arrested for allegedly cheating a Delhi businessman of Rs.1.69 lakh by posing as the spouse of a prominent political leader, police said.

The accused, identified as Bhalinder Pal Singh, has allegedly used multiple identities, including Bhalinder Singh, GS Bali and Jasraj Sehgal, Aditya Singh and others during the past decade. Police said he had earlier posed as the mayor of Bathinda, a personal assistant to an MLA from Jalandhar and a relative of MPs to cheat people in Punjab and Haryana. He is wanted in 25 cases of cheating and impersonation.
