India, Sept. 11 -- Conservative US leader Charlie Kirk, who died on Wednesday after being shot at an event in Utah, had just last week said that America does not need more visas for Indians, adding that the States was "full" and it was time to put "our own people first".

The 31-year-old Trump ally made his entry into the 'America First' debate, the US President's key agenda since his presidential campaign days, with his remark on legal immigrants, especially from India.

He said, "America does not need more visas for people from India. Perhaps no form of legal immigration has so displaced American workers as those from India. Enough already. We're full. Let's finally put our own people first."
