'Enjoy your last Test mate': Ollie Pope recalls harrowing India Test experience at Headingley
India, Aug. 14 -- Ollie Pope has been recalled for the first two Tests against Pakistan as an extra batsman after injury to Jacob Bethell. The right-handed England batter, known for his elegant shots, hasn't played any Test cricket since he was dropped from the fourth Ashes Test in December last year.
In June when New Zealand toured England - the next Test assignment for the English team - he was nowhere in the scheme of things at the ECB. Although he was doing very well in county cricket for Surrey, if not for Bethell's injury, he would have had to wait longer for a recall but now, just like that, he is back and ready to face Pakistan. Though it remains to be seen if he makes it to the Playing XI as well.
