Chennai, Aug. 26 -- The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) on Tuesday alleged that the previous Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government did not receive environmental clearance for the Parandur greenfield airport project, a day after chief minister C Joseph Vijay announced the government's decision to scrap it. Speaking at the state assembly, energy resources and law minister R Nirmal Kumar said: "DMK's claim that 90% of the land was acquired for developing the Parandur airport project is not true. So far only 1,802 acres land have been acquired which is 48%, the rest of the land has not been acquired."
