Women's groups demand immediate implementation of 33% quota before 2029 polls
Goa, July 11 -- A coalition of women's organisations and civil society groups has urged the Centre to introduce a Constitutional Amendment Bill during the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament to delink women's reservation from the Census and delimitation process.
Under the banner of the National Coalition for Women's Reservation (NCWR), the groups demanded that the 33% reservation in Parliament and State Legislative Assemblies be implemented at the existing strength from the next round of elections instead of waiting for delimitation.
