Goa, July 2 -- A group of women in Vasco allegedly apprehended a jeweller accused of cheating them of gold ornaments worth several lakhs of rupees through a fake low-interest gold loan scheme before escorting him to the local police station.

According to the complainants, the accused had allegedly promised to arrange gold loans at low interest rates and collected their jewellery on the pretext of processing the loans. However, they claim the ornaments were never returned, leaving several families at a significant financial loss.

The women alleged that the jeweller had been absconding and decided to take him to the police station after locating him.
