India, April 5 -- A 34-year-old woman was seriously injured after being allegedly attacked with a knife in broad daylight at Vollant, Cortalim. Her father also sustained injuries while trying to rescue her.

According to police, the incident occurred on Saturday morning when the woman had stepped out near her residence. The accused, a 47 year old man, identified as a relative and reportedly under the influence of alcohol, allegedly confronted her and began verbally abusing her before launching a violent attack with a knife. She suffered injuries to her head and neck.
