Goa, July 30 -- A woman sustained critical injuries in a road accident on Uguem Bridge at Tambose on Thursday after a vehicle allegedly lost control and crashed.

According to preliminary information, the driver is suspected to have fallen asleep at the wheel, causing the vehicle to veer off course. However, officials said the exact circumstances leading to the accident are yet to be confirmed.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene and shifted the injured woman to a nearby hospital, where she is undergoing treatment. Her condition was reported to be critical.

Police are expected to investigate the incident to determine the exact cause of the crash and whether driver fatigue played a role.
