Goa, June 4 -- The BCCI selection committee, headed by Ajit Agarkar, will meet on June 6 to pick India's squads for the upcoming white-ball tours of Ireland and England. While the focus will be on naming squads for the T20I and ODI series, the selectors also face several crucial decisions regarding leadership, senior players and emerging talents.

One of the biggest talking points is India's T20I captaincy. Current skipper Suryakumar Yadav is reportedly set to lose the role after a disappointing run with the bat in recent months. Despite leading India successfully, Suryakumar struggled during the T20 World Cup 2026 and managed only 270 runs in 13 IPL innings this season.
