Goa, June 13 -- India and Afghanistan are set to begin their first-ever bilateral ODI series when they face off in the opening match at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala on June 14. The three-match series carries added significance as both teams begin preparations for the 2027 ODI World Cup.

Led by Shubman Gill, India enter the series with a blend of youth and experience. Yashasvi Jaiswal returns to the ODI setup, while Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer and Washington Sundar provide stability to the side. Afghanistan, meanwhile, will rely on stars such as Rashid Khan, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Mohammad Nabi to challenge the hosts.
