Goa, July 18 -- Should bullfights (Dhirio) be legalized in Goa? That is the million-dollar question currently stirring debate across the state. Supporters of Dhirio argue that legalising the traditional bullfight would help preserve Goa's cultural heritage. Animal rights activists, however, strongly oppose the move, citing concerns over cruelty to animals and the safety risks involved. The debate has resurfaced following a recent incident in Navelim, where an alleged Dhirio was reportedly held and recorded on video by a young social worker.
