Goa, May 13 -- Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has announced financial assistance of Rs.25 lakh from his personal trust for the family of the 11-year-old boy from Sattari who allegedly lost his leg due to medical negligence at Valpoi Community Health Centre.

The announcement comes amid widespread outrage over the incident, which has raised serious concerns about medical protocols and patient care at government health facilities.

The minister also informed that a high-level committee headed by senior officials of the Health Department has been constituted to conduct a detailed probe into the matter.
