Goa, Oct. 29 -- South Goa MP Capt. Viriato Fernandes has urged the state government to declare the devastating fire at Vasco's Sunday Market a state disaster to ensure adequate assistance and financial relief for affected traders and vendors.

Fernandes, accompanied by Vasco Congress leaders, visited the market on Sunday to assess the damage and understand the losses suffered by those whose businesses were affected by the blaze.

During the visit, the delegation inspected the affected premises and took stock of the destruction caused by the fire.
