Virdi-Sakhali Preserves Collective Ganesh Visarjan Tradition
Sakhali, Sept. 19 -- Five-day-old Lord Ganesha idols from the Chariwada and Ghadiwada localities of Virdi-Sakhali were immersed with traditional fervour as residents came together to celebrate their long-standing community tradition.
Residents of the two wadas, or neighbourhoods, continue to follow the custom of conducting a collective immersion ceremony. As part of the tradition, the immersion does not begin until all the Ganesha idols from the respective households have reached the designated immersion spot.
