Goa, July 15 -- Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai has appealed to Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant to extend the operating hours of licensed hotels and restaurants until 3:30 a.m. on July 15, 16 and 19, allowing football enthusiasts to watch the FIFA World Cup semifinal and final matches in a safe and regulated environment.

In his appeal, Sardesai said the temporary extension would cater to Goa's large football-loving community while supporting the state's hospitality sector. He added that permitting licensed establishments to remain open later would encourage organised celebrations and reduce the likelihood of unregulated gatherings.
