India, March 10 -- Vijai Sardesai has raised questions over the claim that Goa has 61% forest cover, stating that he will present the "exact position" during the discussion on forest-related demands in the Assembly.
Reacting to a media query regarding the statement made by Deviya Rane, Sardesai said there could be a difference between what is reflected on paper and the actual ground reality.
"I will give you the exact position of what is on paper and what actually it is during the forest demands," he said.
Sardesai also noted that the claim merits a response, particularly because it came from the chairperson of the Goa Forest Development Corporation (GFDC).
