Goa, June 29 -- Emergency responders, assisted by specially trained rescue dogs, continued searching for survivors on Sunday after two powerful earthquakes devastated Venezuela, leaving more than 1,450 people dead and causing widespread destruction across the country.
In a rare moment of hope amid the disaster, French and American rescue teams successfully pulled a man and his teenage son alive from beneath the rubble in Caraballeda, located about 40 kilometres north of Caracas. The dramatic rescue came despite the increasingly slim chances of finding survivors.
