Goa, Aug. 10 -- Several villagers and activists gathered in large numbers at Velsao to protest the alleged blocking of access to around 20 houses due to ongoing railway double-tracking work.

The protesters said the construction activity has affected access to homes and demanded that residents' traditional and rightful access routes be restored and protected.

Locals maintained that the affected families must be provided uninterrupted access to their houses and urged the authorities to intervene immediately to resolve the issue.

The villagers warned that construction work should not be allowed to deprive residents of access to their homes and called for a solution that safeguards the interests of the affected families.
