Goa, Aug. 18 -- Varca Sports Club defeated Navelim Sports Club 7-6 on penalties in an exciting encounter held at the Varca Sports Football Ground as part of the Memorial of Petlu Pedro Pereira.

Navelim Sports Club made a strong start, with Sam Pereira scoring twice to give his side a 2-0 lead at half-time.

Varca Sports Club staged a spirited comeback after the break, with Shadan Rodrigues and Landon Mendonca finding the net to level the score at 2-2 and force a penalty shootout.

Varca held their nerve from the spot, securing a 5-4 victory in the shootout and sealing a 7-6 aggregate win.

Shadan Rodrigues was named Man of the Match, while Johnathan Mascarenhas was adjudged Best Goalkeeper.
