Goa, July 23 -- The United States has issued a worldwide security advisory for its citizens, warning that escalating tensions in the Middle East could lead to unexpected security risks, travel disruptions and potential threats to American interests abroad.

In an advisory published on its official travel portal on Wednesday, the US State Department said the security situation in the region remains volatile and could deteriorate further.

"Due to heightened tensions in the Middle East, the security environment remains complex with the potential for unforeseen escalation," the advisory stated.
