Goa, June 29 -- The United States and Iran have reportedly agreed to temporarily halt military operations following several days of exchanges near the Strait of Hormuz, with both sides expected to resume diplomatic engagement in Qatar.

According to reports citing a senior US official, representatives from Washington and Tehran are scheduled to meet in Doha on Tuesday for further discussions aimed at easing tensions. The reported agreement comes after a series of confrontations in the strategically important waterway.
