Goa, July 12 -- A shocking case has emerged from Uttar Pradesh's Agra district, where a man allegedly attempted to poison his mother after his mother-in-law reportedly told him that his wife would not return unless he "removed" his mother. The incident took place on July 9 in Barpura village under the Pinahat police station limits.

According to the FIR, the accused, identified as Ravindra, allegedly mixed a poisonous substance into a serving of chole and served it to his mother, Rammoorti, at around 3 pm. Shortly after consuming the food, the woman fell seriously ill and was rushed to a hospital, where she continues to receive treatment.
