Goa, May 9 -- Two women were booked under the Beggars Act during an enforcement drive conducted at Birla Cross in Cortalim, officials said.
During the operation, authorities also rescued two minor children who were found at the location. Following directions issued by the Child Welfare Committee, the children were shifted to a Children Protective Home for care and rehabilitation.
Officials said the action was part of ongoing efforts to curb begging and ensure the safety and welfare of vulnerable children in public spaces.
Further inquiry into the case is underway.
