Goa, June 10 -- Heavy southwest monsoon showers wreaked havoc across Telangana, claiming the lives of two people in Hyderabad and triggering widespread traffic congestion as several areas remained waterlogged.

The tragic incident occurred on Tuesday evening in Hyderabad's Mylardevpally locality, where two men were electrocuted after coming into contact with a live electrical cable submerged in rainwater.

According to reports, the low-tension streetlight cable was accidentally damaged during drain excavation work and fell onto the road. Continuous rainfall caused the area to become waterlogged, leaving the live wire hidden beneath the accumulated water.
