Goa, June 27 -- A 38-year-old man and his seven-year-old child were found dead, while the man's 30-year-old wife was found in critical condition at a rented residence in the Karaswada-Peddem area of Mapusa on Saturday.

According to sources, preliminary indications suggest the family may have been involved in an alleged suicide attempt. However, police have not officially confirmed the cause of the deaths or the circumstances surrounding the incident, and investigations are currently underway.

The injured woman was shifted to the District Hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.

The family, originally from Sonurli in Maharashtra, had been residing in rented accommodation in the Mapusa area.
