Goa, July 14 -- Two girl students from a higher secondary school in Colvale were admitted to the Mapusa District Hospital after allegedly consuming multiple iron and folic acid tablets distributed under a school health programme.

According to available information, the tablets had been provided to students with instructions to consume one tablet per week. However, the two students reportedly consumed five tablets each, following which they developed adverse symptoms.

Soon after taking the tablets, both students began vomiting and complained of uneasiness. School authorities immediately shifted them to the Mapusa District Hospital for medical treatment.
