Goa, Aug. 18 -- US President Donald Trump has cited India's election system and voter identification requirements while renewing his push for the passage of the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) America Act, which seeks to introduce stricter citizenship and identification requirements for voting in US elections.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump referred to a recent interaction involving India's Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, who, according to the US President, questioned why elections in the United States are conducted without mandatory valid photo identification for voters.
