Goa, May 27 -- A truck transporting laterite stones overturned near Sacorda close to the Canara Bank junction after reportedly crashing into a roadside divider.

According to available information, the truck was allegedly carrying laterite stones sourced from an illegally operating quarry and was travelling along the Malle-Sacorda route when the accident took place.

Locals claimed that the vehicle had loaded the stones from the Malpan area, where several laterite stone quarries are reportedly functioning despite earlier enforcement action.
