According to sources, several TMC MPs are in touch with the camp led by rebel MLA Ritabrata Banerjee, raising speculation about a possible split within the party's parliamentary ranks.
The development comes days after a significant section of TMC legislators broke away from the party's legislative fold and staked claim to the post of Leader of Opposition in the Assembly.
