Goa, May 7 -- Heavy rains accompanied by thunder, lightning and strong winds lashed the Chorla Ghat region on Wednesday evening, leading to the collapse of a huge tree on the road and bringing vehicular traffic to a complete standstill for some time.The impact of the storm was so intense that the uprooted tree fell across the roadway, blocking movement of vehicles from both sides of the ghat section. Fortunately, no casualties were reported and no vehicle was trapped under the fallen tree.
