Goa, May 11 -- Traditional fish vendors from Vasco da Gama met Vasco Municipal Council Chairperson Girish Borkar to raise concerns over wholesale fish operators allegedly conducting business within 500 metres of the Vasco Fish Market, affecting the livelihood of local vendors.
According to the delegation, the presence of wholesale fish traders in close proximity to the market has created severe difficulties for traditional vendors in selling their daily catch. The vendors alleged that the ongoing activities are disrupting the functioning of the fish market and impacting their income.
The aggrieved vendors warned that they would be forced to stage a protest if immediate steps are not taken to shift the wholesale operators from the area....
