Goa, July 3 -- The Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2026 auction concluded on July 3, with all eight franchises completing their squads ahead of the tournament, which begins on August 4. More than 700 players had registered for the auction, but only 56 cricketers found buyers as teams finalised their combinations for the upcoming season.

The biggest talking point of the auction was Chepauk Super Gillies' decision to sign wicketkeeper-batter Ashwanth Valthapa for 14.45 lakh, making him the most expensive player in the TNPL 2026 auction. Nellai Royal Kings also made headlines by spending 13.70 lakh on all-rounder Mukilesh U, while several other franchises invested heavily to strengthen their squads.
