Goa, July 7 -- A three-month-old infant from Shanti Nagar in Porvorim died after developing breathing difficulties on Monday, prompting police to register an unnatural death (UD) case and launch an investigation.

According to Porvorim Police, the infant was born prematurely and had remained admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) since birth. After showing signs of recovery, the child was discharged from the hospital on June 5.

On Monday, the infant was taken to Goa Medical College (GMC), Bambolim, for a routine medical examination before returning home with family members. Police said that after being fed milk later in the day, the child began experiencing breathing difficulties.
