Male infertility has largely remained out of the public conversation, eclipsed by the persistent belief that fertility issues are mainly linked to women. For years, difficulties in conceiving were largely associated with the female partner. Still, genetic causes, lifestyle changes, and environmental factors are now shifting the focus to the growing male infertility crisis. According to a 2025 NIH study, India experienced the most significant rise in the prevalence of male infertility, with a 58.82 per cent increase.
