Once upon a time Indian politics was a solemnly serious affair. It was not a laughing matter. Now it has become a circus where the sat irists have seized the ring and the people cannot stop being passive observers. First came the Cockroach Janta Party. Then, we notice the arrival of the E20 Janta Party. What began as online jokes has turned into a full-scale invasion of satire that is poking fun at the reigning political discourse. Satire has become a potent tool to take on the BJP, which had occupied a high moral space where other parties were only reacting or catching up.
