Goa, Aug. 20 -- The Mapusa JMFC Court has remanded Tarak M. Arolkar of Pedem, Mapusa, to seven days of police custody following his arrest by the Crime Branch in an alleged Rs.40 lakh property fraud case. According to the allegations, Arolkar posed as the owner of a property at Assagao, Survey No. 37/4, and allegedly accepted Rs.40 lakh as part of a proposed sale transaction. However, the sale was reportedly never completed. The Crime Branch is conducting further investigation into the alleged fraud, with Arolkar remaining in custody for questioning.
