Goa, May 8 -- BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari is set to become the next Chief Minister of West Bengal, marking a historic moment as he becomes the first BJP leader to head a government in the state. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday officially announced Adhikari as the elected leader of the BJP legislature party in West Bengal, confirming his elevation to the top post.
The announcement comes after a decisive electoral victory for the BJP, which won 207 of the 293 seats it contested in the 294-member Assembly.
