Goa, Aug. 29 -- A man suspect ed of being involved in the theft of a motorcycle al legedly died after he was intercepted and assaulted by a group of persons at Nuvem in Salcete on Thurs day night, turning what began as suspicion over a stolen two-wheeler into a fatal case of alleged mob violence. Maina Curtorim Police have arrested three per sons in connection with the assault and are prob ing the involvement of others who were report edly present at the scene. Police are also investigat ing whether the deceased was actually involved in the alleged theft and, cru cially, how a confrontation over a suspected property offence escalated into an assault that ended in his death.
