Goa, Sept. 19 -- Surinder Koli, who was once accused in the sensational 2006 Nithari killings case and later acquitted by the Supreme Court, has died by suicide in Haridwar.

Koli was found hanging inside a tea stall where he had been working as a tea vendor for some time after his acquittal. His body was discovered at the stall opposite Lalmata Temple on Sapt Sarovar Road.

The Sapt Rishi police outpost, under the jurisdiction of City Kotwali, received information about the incident and reached the spot. Police have informed Koli's family in Almora and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
