Supreme Court Reserves Order on Tarun Tejpal's Plea Against Surrender
Goa, Aug. 24 -- The Supreme Court has reserved its order on a plea filed by former Tehelka editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal seeking exemption from surrendering as directed by the Goa High Court.
The Goa High Court had convicted Tejpal in the rape case and sentenced him to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment. It had also directed him to surrender within four weeks.
Tejpal has approached the Supreme Court seeking relief from the surrender direction while challenging the High Court order. The apex court, after hearing the plea, has reserved its order.
