Supreme Court Remands Goa Weightlifting Coach Selection Dispute Back to High Court
Goa, Oct. 8 -- The Supreme Court has set aside a Bombay High Court order regarding the selection of a Grade-IV Weightlifting Coach in Goa. The decision came after observing that candidate Vaishnavi S. Ugadekar was not made a party or heard, despite being one of only two contenders. Ugadekar had questioned the fairness of the selection, prompting the Goa government to order fresh tests, which the other candidate challenged in court. Justices Prashant Kumar Mishra and Shree Chandrashekhar restored the petition for fresh hearing, directing that Ugadekar be heard. Advocate Salvador Santosh Rebello represented Ugadekar.
