Goa, June 15 -- Google CEO Sundar Pichai encountered a student walkout during Stanford University's 2026 commencement ceremony as protesters demonstrated against Google's involvement in Project Nimbus, a cloud computing and artificial intelligence contract with the Israeli government.

As Pichai began delivering the commencement address at Stanford Stadium, more than 100 students reportedly left their seats while chanting "Free, Free Palestine" in a planned demonstration organised by pro-Palestinian student groups. The protest drew attention to Google's role in Project Nimbus, a $1.2 billion cloud services agreement involving Google and Amazon.
