The State sees around 50 confirmed brain strokes every month, with majority of them getting presented late at hos pitals due to lack of awareness, thus highlighting the need for timely treatment of stroke cases. "We record roughly 25 to 30 confirmed strokes per month across our specific setups. When you factor in the Goa Medical College (GMC) and private facil ities, the State sees around 50 confirmed strokes every month," Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Non-communicable Diseases (NCD), Directorate of Health Ser vices (DHS), Dr Sandesh Madkai kar told O Heraldo.
