Goa, July 27 -- The demand for political reservation for the Scheduled Tribe (ST) community in Goa has intensified, with ST leader Prakash Velip urging the government to implement the long-pending provision without further delay. Velip said continued inaction on granting political reservation was unacceptable and warned that failure to deliver it within the year could have political consequences for the government. He stressed that the issue concerns fair representation of the ST community in the political system. The renewed appeal comes amid increasing pressure from tribal organisations seeking early implementation of political reservation in the state.
