Colvale Central Jail is facing alarming alle-gations that it is no longer Just a destination for smuggled contraband, but a central command point for a sprawling Goan drug syndicate.

Sources familiar with the activities inside the prison revealed that a murder convict lodged at the jail is allegedly oper-ating as the kingpin of a major narcotics network from behind bars. The in-mate, who has a history of involvement in theft and narcotics cases, continues to control a supply net-work in South Goa even while serving his sen-tence, sources alleged.
